Pictorial Atlas of Thyroid Imaging
نویسنده
چکیده
In the last decade, there has been a rapid refinement in ultrasound technology and especially the development of high resolution ultrasound has led to an imperative part for ultrasound in the assessment of the thyroid and parathyroid disorders. Ultrasound images play a major role in the management of thyroid disorder and, in precise, in the management of recurring neck complications after thyroidectomy. The book provides an extremely interesting and informative imaging atlas of the thyroid gland and its related structures. The entire book has segregated into 8 chapters with 750 high-resolution ultrasound and pathology images, and images of tumor types. The book introduces the basics of interpretation of thyroid and parathyroid ultrasound images, as well as provides more advanced guidance for endocrinologists. It mainly covers the area of the thyroid gland, congenital disorder, goiter, nodular disease, thyroiditis, hyperthyroidism, and parathyroid gland disorders. This is a convenient, and quick reference for thyroid imaging designed for radiology residents, radiologists, endocrinologists, and endocrine surgeons. It presents contemporary clinical and radiologic thyroid images representing all imaging modalities currently in use. The authors presented up-to-date and the most important ultrasound images with detailed illustrations that concealed an extensive range of thyroid and parathyroid disorders. This book serves an established practitioner as a perfect and authoritative reference on the practical thyroid imaging, and how ultrasound outcomes in turn relate to pathology and subsequent patient management. My compliments go to the authors and the publishers who have managed to create the excellent work. I recommend this as a valuable atlas for medical persons who are interested in updating their knowledge in clinical thyroidology.

Cervical abnormalities may be congenital or acquired. Congenital anomalies of the cervix are rarely isolated, and more commonly accompany other uterine anomalies. Various imaging tools have been used in the assessment of Mullerian duct anomalies (MDAs). Currently, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the modality of choice for definitive diagnosis and classification of the MDAs. Hysterosalpingog...

Introduction: Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging has emerged as a valuable tool in radiation treatment (RT) planning as well as Positron Emission Tomography (PET) imaging owing to its superior soft-tissue contrast. Due to the fact that there is no direct transformation from voxel intensity in MR images into electron density, itchr('39')s crucial to generate a pseudo-CT (Computed Tomography) image ...

UNLABELLED Focal and diffuse thyroid abnormalities are commonly encountered during the interpretation of computed tomography (CT) exams performed for various clinical purposes. These findings can often lead to a diagnostic dilemma, as the CT reflects the nonspecific appearances. Ultrasound (US) examination has a superior spatial resolution and is considered the modality of choice for thyroid ev...

Introduction: Nowadays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) in combination with computed-tomography (CT) is increasingly being used in radiation therapy planning. MR and CT images are applied to determine the target volume and calculate dose distribution, respectively. Since the use of these two imaging modalities causes registration uncertainty and increases department w...
